How Kangen Water Works

Kangen water is produced by a machine called a water ionizer, developed by Enagic (a Japanese company). The machine connects to your tap and uses electrolysis to split normal water into alkaline and acidic streams.

1️⃣ Filtration Stage

Tap water first passes through a carbon filter.

This removes chlorine, rust, sediments, and other impurities.

The goal is to purify water before the next step.

2️⃣ Electrolysis Stage

The filtered water enters an electrolysis chamber with platinum-coated titanium plates.

When an electric current passes through, water is split into two types:

Alkaline water (pH 8.5–11.5) → Drinking, cooking, cleaning oils.

Acidic water (pH 2.5–6.0) → Disinfecting, skincare, sanitizing.

3️⃣ Separation of Water Types

The machine dispenses alkaline water from one outlet and acidic water from another.

Both types are collected and used for different purposes.

4️⃣ Oxidation-Reduction Potential (ORP)

Kangen water is claimed to have a negative ORP, meaning it acts as an antioxidant.

This helps neutralize free radicals in the body.

5️⃣ Adjustable pH Levels

The machine can produce multiple types of water:

Strong Alkaline (11.5 pH): Degreasing, cleaning pesticides from food.

Drinking Alkaline (8.5–9.5 pH): Daily hydration.

Neutral (7.0 pH): For taking medicine or baby formula.

Strong Acidic (2.5 pH): Disinfectant, sanitizing, oral rinse.

Beauty Water (5.5 pH): Skin toner, hair rinse.

✅ In summary:
Kangen water works by filtering tap water and then using electrolysis to separate it into acidic and alkaline types. Each type has its own specialized use, from hydration and cooking to cleaning, skincare, and sanitization.
